All in a days work!

Working in the field of special events can be a very demanding job with long hours and high stress. However, when you love what you do, you find that you never notice. Not only that, there is always opportunity to have a little fun at work. I wanted to share a few photos of our team kicking back, relaxing and having a little fun - all in a days work! Enjoy!

Here Julio and I are posing at the photo op provided by our New Years Eve Party client shortly before the party doors are to open!

The link below is a fun video we shot and features members of all departments!

These are a few from our holiday party! Our team members really

A Celestial Evening - Jessica and Michael: October 11, 2008

Jessica and Michael were married in a beautiful ceremony at Saint Mary's Catholic Church before coming to the hotel for their reception. For Jessica, there were an unusually large number of obstacles to overcome during the course of her planning but her optimism and faith kept her focused on the important things things in life. Every time I spoke with her, she had already created a solution where a problem had previously existed.

After the ceremony, the bridal party took advantage of the time before the reception to pose for some pictures in the garden.

And here's Jessy showing her good sense of humor. As it turns out, while trying on dresses for her bridal shower, Jessy fell in the fitting room, shattering her knee and adding unforeseen stress and difficulty to planning and surviving her wedding day. But with grace, Jessy said to me that at least she would have graduated from her walker and crutches to be walking freely and even dancing on her wedding day! Now that's making lemonade!

This photo shows Jessy's mother who was the creative inspiration and elbow grease behind so many of the special details that made the wedding unique. Jessy's theme was a celestial blue night sky with silver stars and her mother handmade each place card - a silver frame with a star on each. She also made these beautiful ribbon wands for guests to wave at the formal departure at the end of the evening.

Jessy had ordered specialty favors but grew increasingly frustrated with the company when the shipment didn't go out on time, didn't arrive on time and as of this writing, I still don't know if it ever came. Not to let that get her down, Jessy discovered these fabulous chocolates already "dressed" to match her theme! Yummy and perfectly coordinated!

Mother and daughter both found time to enjoy the celebration!

Best wishes to Jessica and Michael for a long, happy, and healthy marriage!

Ryan and Elisa - So Happy Together: October 10, 2008

Ryan and Elisa were such a cute couple and both played large roles in bringing their day together. Elisa and the ladies got ready for the ceremony in our Patriot Room. Here you can see Elisa taking a quick peek at her guests beginning to assemble in the garden.

The afternoon was beautiful and so the ceremony took place in the garden. Elisa was preceeded by a flower girl scattering fresh petals and a handsome ring bearer.

Afterward, there was some time for clowning around with the groomsmen while the bridesmaids looked on.

Meanwhile, the guests enjoyed a cocktail reception featuring Peking Duck Wraps with Hoisin Sauce and Hawaiian Chicken Satay along with wine, liquors and, quite clearly, a refreshing assortment of beers.

In addition to their really sweet personalities, one of the things that came through was Elisa's attention to detail. Her personal touches included the initials "R" and "E" in Cabernet Red suspended from Ivory Ribbons as a feature at the head table. Elisa also provided a unique twist on scattering flower petals - handmade ribbon flowers sprinkled across the cake table.

A pair of kissing doves looked on from their icy perch as the guests and the happy couple had a great time dining and dancing the night away.

Best wishes to Elisa and Ryan for a happy marriage every bit as sweet as the two of you are!
